About Us

Your Dental Care was founded by Dr Wendy Ong in December 2023 in Sitiawan, Perak, but the story behind the clinic began many years earlier.

Before opening Your Dental Care, Dr Wendy spent approximately seven years practising dentistry in Sitiawan. During those years, she built long-standing relationships with patients in the community while developing a growing interest in providing more comprehensive dentistry.

She envisioned a practice where she could take the time to understand each patient, offer a wider range of treatment options, invest in modern dental technology, and create an experience that felt very different from the traditional dental clinic.

That vision eventually became Your Dental Care.

One of the principles behind Your Dental Care is what we call slow dentistry.

For us, this doesn't mean making treatment unnecessarily long. It means allowing sufficient time to examine carefully, explain clearly and perform treatment meticulously rather than treating dentistry as an assembly line.

We want our patients to understand what we see, why we recommend a treatment and what we have done.

That is why intraoral photography and cameras form an important part of our patient experience. Whenever appropriate, we show patients what we can see inside their mouths before treatment and show the result afterwards. Instead of simply being told that something is wrong, patients can see and better understand their own dental condition.

For cases requiring more detailed investigation, our clinic is also equipped with 3D CBCT imaging, allowing our dentists to assess dental and surrounding structures in three dimensions when clinically indicated. This is particularly valuable when planning more complex procedures and helps us make better-informed treatment decisions.

From the beginning, we wanted Your Dental Care to feel different.

Rather than creating a cold or intimidating clinical environment, the clinic was designed to be modern, aesthetically pleasing and warm.

We paid attention to details that patients might not normally associate with visiting a dentist — from the appearance and scent of the clinic to the way patients are welcomed and cared for.

During longer treatments, patients can request a blanket for additional comfort and enjoy entertainment such as YouTube while receiving treatment.

They may seem like small details, but we believe they matter.

Because when patients feel comfortable, informed and respected, visiting the dentist becomes a very different experience.

When Your Dental Care opened in December 2023, we also wanted dental care to be more accessible to people with busy schedules.

We became one of the first dental clinics in Sitiawan to introduce extended evening operating hours, allowing patients to visit the dentist after work rather than having to choose between their job and their dental appointment.

It reflected a principle that continues to guide us today:

Our clinic should adapt to the needs of our patients — not expect every patient to adapt to us.

Your Dental Care started with one dentist and three dental assistants.

Since then, our family has grown.

Today, our clinical team consists of two full-time dentists, two part-time dentists and five dental assistants, allowing us to care for more patients while continuing to broaden the treatments available within our clinic.

Our services have expanded to include preventive and general dentistry as well as more comprehensive treatments such as children's early orthodontic intervention with LM Activator, clear aligners, orthodontic treatment, root canal treatment, aesthetic dentistry, dental implants and full-mouth rehabilitation.

As the clinic grew, something else happened that meant a great deal to us.

Patients whom Dr Wendy had treated during her earlier years of practising in Sitiawan continued to seek her care at Your Dental Care. At the same time, recommendations from existing patients brought new families through our doors.

Much of that growth has happened through word of mouth.

Patients have come to know Dr Wendy particularly for her meticulous approach, attention to detail and willingness to take the time to explain and plan treatment carefully.

Your Dental Care has changed considerably since December 2023, but the reason we exist has not.

We want to provide dentistry that is thorough rather than rushed, transparent rather than confusing, and comfortable rather than intimidating.

We continue to invest in our team, technology and clinical capabilities so that our patients can access increasingly comprehensive dental care close to home.

But regardless of how much the clinic grows, we want every patient who walks through our doors to feel the same thing:

That they are being listened to, that they understand their treatment, and that their dental care is being handled with thought and attention to detail.

That is the kind of dental clinic Dr Wendy wanted to create.

And that is Your Dental Care.
